A damp course is a layer of waterproof material installed in walls, usually just above ground level, to prevent moisture from rising and causing damage, mold, or structural issues.
Alcor is a bitumen coated fully annealed 99% pure aluminium core dampcourse. The aluminium core is coated with bitumen on both sides and edges to prevent lateral corrosion.
It is used as a dampcourse in brickwork and blockwork and is impervious to moisture, providing a protective barrier against rising damp. Alcor is not affected by lime and cement.
It is easily dressed and formed and has great shape retention.
Alcor is available in standard grade (.3mm) and super grade (.45mm)
Polyproof is a polyethelene dampcourse. It is a 500um thick, black polyethelene strip with an embossed surface that reduces slippage in use.
Polyproof is affective in providing moisture protection for use as a dampcourse material.
It can also be used as a concealed flashing under timber window frames and door frames. Not to be used for exposed applications.
Slipjoint is 2 layers of galvanised steel strips that are pre greased with a high pressure grease, then taped together to make handling and placement easier on site.
It is installed in the junctions of brickwork and concrete.
Slipjoint allows for low friction movement between differing materials due to expansion and contraction therefore preventing cracking of the bricks or mortar.
Vesfelt is a fibre felt dampcourse impregnated in bitumen then covered in fine sand to prevent sticking when being rolled out.
It is used as a dampcourse in brick and block walls, waterproofing of flat roofs and under corrugated iron water tanks to prevent condensation corrosion.
It is inert to lime and mortar mixes.
